Help out at WJEF!
There are many ways in which churches and volunteers have helped out at WJEF conferences! Our needs vary depending on the year and situation, but here are a few ways that friends have blessed the conference:
- making welcome bags (these have included fun, useful, or meaningful items like postcards of the area, small gifts made locally, usually candy or snacks, an encouraging note or prayer, a pen with a church logo, little items that might be helpful depending on the locale, such as a ChapStick or a personal size sunscreen bottle).
- scholarships for students or resident elders
- program help up front (all those who speak, lead worship, or give testimonies from up front are of Native descent to provide role models)
- providing meeting space
- transportation (airport, field trip, back and forth from hotel to conference site)
- meals (cook, cater, set up, clean up, or serve)
- make blankets
- tech help (esp. expertise in things like sound or sound equipment)
- loan music equipment (things like an electric keyboard or drum set)
- snacks (for breaks, prayer room, hotel hang out space, etc.)
- prayer, intercessors
- loan cots for hotel rooms
- host staff/mentors/resident elders (can keep costs down with fewer hotel rooms)
- childcare
- help with activities (referee a basketball tourney, take students on a hike during free time, etc.)
- help in other areas of expertise (accounting, publicity, registration, etc. -- depending on the year we may not have as easy access to areas of expertise within our organizations).
Creator has always provided what we need and beyond, often in very practical and personal ways! Please let us know if you are interested.
