OVERVIEW & LINKS
Event Dates Friday Nov 6, 2020 7:00 pm ET/1:00 pm HT, ending late Sunday, Nov 8, 2020.
Join us for a gathering of 150+ Native college students representing more than 50 tribes and ask once again: “Would Jesus Eat Frybread?” This year's theme is "The Whole Community of Creation," with featured speakers Randy and Edith Woodley, Dr. Henrietta Mann, J Goins, and others. As we struggle with race tensions and disease in this country, what vision of community would Jesus like to lead us into?
The Would Jesus Eat Frybread? conference (WJEF) is a gathering for Native students who come from across North America and Pasifika to:
- Meet other Native college students who are investigating following Jesus while honoring their peoples, cultures, and traditions.
- Learn from tribal elders as they offer their wisdom, experiences, and stories.
- Learn to walk in beauty in the midst of abuse and oppression by following the Jesus way.
- Share the gifts that Creator has placed in your culture.
- Seek healing through prayer.
- Discover your place in the story of hope and restoration that Creator is writing.
- Be sent back to your campus with a full belly and a happy heart.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's WJEF will be online.
We are organizing watch parties for students to gather locally as conditions permit.
